Hello,



Wanted to drop you all a line, and see if November 2nd will work for the next meeting, I know we had mentioned at the end of our Thursday meeting that we would have one next Thursday (The 26th of October but that one has been postponed until the 2nd of November? I think that should avoid the PTA meeting on the 9th.



I know this Tiger Den has been a slow start, and I want to assure you parents we will get it moving. If you are unsure of what things you can do at home, please read through the Tiger Cub Handbook, the first chapters are really for “the parents” to read with your tiger cub.



Also we are Den 7, if you wondered J they sell a patch like this at the scout store. (I literally work less than a mile from the scout store and don’t mind picking up some smaller things like books or patches if you need me to)



Items to work on for the next meeting



Get familiar with the Tiger Cub Handbook



If you look on page 29, you can start teaching the Cub Scout Promise, and to explain what it means. Once your tiger has mastered it, the first “paw print” [Page 30]& Akela’s signature is for you! For those that don’t know , the parents are the Akela’s, we will record these items as a Den.



If you don’t have the Book, think about stopping by the scout shop over the weekend (they are open Saturday but not Sunday) Lets shoot for having all the tigers ready for den “sign off” on the next meeting. The book will become your own record of items achieved along the way.



The next sections of the book deal with Family (helping your parents with a chore, etc)



Then we will transition into doing some “Go See It’s” These will range from visiting places in our community such as fire stations, taking hikes, etc.



If you have not read through the book yet, it explains much better than I can, but I wanted to give you all a feel. Essentially there are “family activities, Den Activities, and Pack activities”



I wanted to send this so some of you could work on it on the weekend if you wanted to.



For the next Den Meeting



The CubMaster said that the theme for the upcoming month would be knights & castles. If each Tiger can bring 2-3 pieces of poster board (something you can color on) I have a way we can make a Cub scout suit of armor, then we can show it off at the next pack meeting.

You will need to “register” and then enter the forum password(tiger) once you register (Create a username & password for yourself) then you will have access to the forum, it will be a really easy way to share information (& Keep your inbox clutter down – Like 4 page emails from me.. sorry..)



Also don’t hesitate to ask me, or the group if you have any questions, I know we have some Tigers with older brothers who have already gone through the tiger phase.
