PACK 675 Yorktown Information

The USS Yorktown is a memorial to those who served and died on the ship. Scouts are to have fun but keep in mind this is a memorial site. Although a gift shop onsite (but not on the ship) sells play guns / swords, these are not permitted on the Ship.

Located at Charleston Harbor, South Carolina
Cost of Yorktown $55/person

March 13-14, 2010
8:30 AM Arrival in Parking lot, be out of your car with your bags in the assembly area @ 8:30 AM

Must be 6 years or older to spend the night
Fee Includes, meals Saturday (Lunch, Dinner) Sunday (Breakfeast)
Entrance to Maritime Musuems and other ships in the Harbor

Campers sleep in the actual berthering areas occupied by former crew members & dine in the ships’ galley. There are flushing toilets and private showers in the ship.

Men sleep in the enlisted area, women sleep in the officers quarters

If you have a younger sibling and not able to camp onboard you may still join us for the day, Day Admission is $15/person, age 6 & under is free. Unsure if this includes meals.

It is recommended that you stay overnight on Friday March 12, in Charleston (its about a 6 hour drive) Please make your own travel arrangements, car pooling is advised.

Each Scout will need a Class I Medical Form

Basic Gear to Bring:
You will be provided a bunk with mattress. You need to bring sleeping gear, personal hygiene, change of clothes. Please pack light as you will be carrying everything in down a 600’ long pier from the parking area to the Yorktown.

We must enter as a group so everyone needs to be there by 8:30 AM (Plan for 8:00 AM)
